Overview
After a long hiatus, Jeep finally returns to the pickup segment. Meet the all-new Gladiator, the American brand's new mid-size pickup. It combines the ruggedness of a Wrangler and the utility of a pickup. Like its SUV sibling, the Gladiator has a body-on-frame construction and live axle coil spring suspension on both ends. Two variants are offered, the entry-level "Sport", and the more rugged "Rubicon".
Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator's roof and doors can be removed, a feature unique for a pickup truck.
Under the Gladiator's hood is Jeep's familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar gasoline V6 which makes 285hp and 352Nm of torque. This motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard on all variants.
