Overview
The first thing you'll notice about the latest generation Discovery is how Range Rover-like its new design language is. Its sleeker shape also helps disguise its tall-ish roofline. Inside it’s pretty much what one would expect from a modern premium Land Rover, this means a neatly arranged dashboard and interior. Advancements have also been made under the skin, its new aluminum monocoque construction is not only stronger, but also up to 460kg lighter than its predecessor.
The updated Discovery has two engine options for the Philippine market, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline mill which puts out 296hp and 400Nm of torque (P300), and a 3.0-liter oil-burner which pumps out 245hp and 600Nm of torque (D250). Both powerplants are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. An intelligent permanent four-wheel drive system comes as standard.
