The current generation Mazda 2 features the Japanese brand's KODO: Soul of Motion design, inside it features a neat euro-inspired dashboard. SkyActiv Technology helps make it a safer, more fuel efficient and better handling car. This attractive subcompact has also won the Japan Car of the Year 2014-2015 Award. The 2 received mild facelifts in 2020 and 2022 to keep it looking fresh. For the 2024 model year, the 2 gets another set of updates. Now only offered as a "1.5 Sport" variant, its grille, front bumper, rear bumper, and alloy wheels have been restyled to give it a sportier look. This theme continues inside, where it gains black leather and suede seats with red inserts. Its updated infotainment system gains wireless Apple CarPlay. Wireless charging is now standard.

Powering the refreshed Mazda 2 is an updated 1.5-liter SkyActiv gasoline mill which now produces 108hp and 141Nm of torque, it's mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
