Overview
This is the all-new Corolla Altis, it features a sharper design for a sportier overall look. Its interior has also been upgraded to match its exterior. As expected from a new Toyota, airbags, Electronic Stability Control are now standard across the range. Higher-end variants get additional safety features like lane-trace assist, lane-departure alert, and dynamic radar cruise control.
The all-new Corolla Altis rides on the Japanese carmaker's new TNGA architecture. It now gets an independent multi-link rear suspension with upper and lower arms, this is an upgrade over the twist beam rear end used by the last three generations of Altis.
For the first time in the country, the Corolla Altis will be offered with conventional and hybrid powerplants. Traditional non-hybrid variants get a 1.8-liter gasoline unit which produces 138hp and 172Nm of torque. The Hybrid variant gets a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and an electric motor, this delivers a full system output of 121hp. All variants come standard with a continuously variable transmission.
The "Platinum White Pearl Mica" paint is standard on the 1.8 GR-S HEV variant.
