The XT1200Z Super Tenere is Yamaha's vision of an adventure-touring bike built ground-up to tackle Dakar Rally conditions.  Its 1199cc Twin-cylinder, DOHC, 270-degree crossplane crank-equipped engine produces 113.18hp and 117Nm of torque. This capable engine is mated to a shaft drive transmission, putting it in the same playing field as other more premium adventure tourers.
